The Surrounding Area
Camposol, the Golf Course and Hotel.
Camposol boasts an 18 hole championship golf course. There is a 4* hotel with balneario. Also there are numerous bars and restaurants on the 2 commercial centres, including one with a 4 lane bowling alley. All in all, you are spoilt for choice. However a short drive or taxi ride away the many surrounding towns & villages have an abundance of bars & restaurants offering you every kind of entertainment & gastronomic experience. And for those who like to party late there is an large open-air disco in nearby Mazarron that closes sometime approaching daylight.

The Sierra Espuna is a large Natural Park(ideal for walkers where much wildlife and fauna is to be found along with some tucked away restaurants and purpose built barbeque areas. The Monastery of Santa Eulalia is well worth a visit with the long steep walk up via the stations of the cross. Further on is the Medieval town of Aledo with its look-out tower.

Cabo Tinoso (The Guns of Navarone?) is well worth a visit.These huge guns built to protect the harbour at Cartegena (The home of the Spanish Navy) were never fired in anger. Visitors will notice that the castillated buildings bear a strinking resemblance to those in the film The Guns of Navarone.

The Mines above Mazarron have been in use from the times of the Phoenicians and only closed down in the middle of the last century. The rock formations at Bol Nuevo named The Enchanted City have been formed by wind erosion on the soft sandstone.

The Numerous beaches of our area. Well worth seeing if you can get around to visiting them all? Some are pretty hard to get to, but all are worth the visit


Cartegena (Where Hannibal landed with his elephants) One of the oldest cities in Spain and is under an immense rebuilding project to restore it to its former glory. In the Port area you will find Peral's Submarine. Built in the 1930's following a design of1898.
